Mission Viejo senior and all-county high jumper Sage Stone has signed a national letter of intent to compete at UCLA.

His mother confirmed the signing via email and UCLA announced the news on its’ track and field website.

Stone enjoyed a stellar junior season last spring. He won high jump titles at the Orange County Championships, the South Coast League Finals, and the CIF-SS Division 1 Finals en route to qualifying for the CIF State Track and Field  Championships.

He cleared a lifetime best 6-8 to win the high jump title at the 2012 Beach Cities Invitational.

That clearance is currently second all-time in school history.
