CULVER CITY (24-1) VS. PACIFICA (19-10)

Site, time: Santa Ana Valley, 4:30 p.m.

Outlook: The Mariners have reached the Division 6 semifinals for the second consecutive season. In 2012, they fell to eventual champion Warren, 16-6.

Third-seeded Pacifica is led by one of the top goalies in the division in Melissa Thorn, a senior who is third in the county with 346 saves and this week’s OCVarsity Player of the Week. Senior Kassie Winn paces Pacifica’s offense with 106 goals. She scored nine in a 16-5 victory against Garden Grove in the first round. Culver City upset No. 2 seeded and 2012 Division 6 runner-up Pasadena Poly, 10-8, in the quarterfinals. Culver City also handled Tustin, 12-3, in the first round. Pacifica beat Tustin twice, 8-6, and, 10-5. Culver City goalie Amanda Duval recorded 20 saves against Pasadena Poly. Culver City was ranked ninth in the final Division 6 coaches poll.
