Irvine’s starting quarterback last season, Ryan Goodman, has transferred to Woodbridge and is eligible to play for the Warriors next season, Woodbridge Coach Rick Gibson said Tuesday.
“The family moved to the Woodbridge attendance area,” Gibson said.
“Ryan has been attending Woodbridge since the move. The appropriate CIF paperwork was filled out by both Woodbridge and Irvine, CIF cleared him to compete in both lacrosse, this year, and football next (season).”
In his junior year, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Goodman passed for 863 yards and seven touchdowns.
Goodman’s father, Jerry, confirmed the transfer but did not give a reason for his son’s move.
Irvine football coach Erik Terry declined to comment about the transfer.
