Here is a look at the county teams, players to watch, and first round schedule for the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs.

Cypress: Two losses in their final three matches dropped the Centurions from first to third place in the Empire League. Cypress ended league with a 4-3 win over Valencia, the seventh time in 12 league matches they scored at least three goals.

Pacifica: After narrowly missing out on winning the Empire League championship, the Mariners will enter the playoffs as the Empire League’s second seed. Pacifica is unbeaten in its last seven matches.

Valencia: The Tigers enter the playoffs having struggled during the latter half of league play to fall to fourth place. Valencia has lost three straight and was winless in four of its’ final five matches.

Western: The Pioneers earned an at large berth after finishing fourth in the Empire League. Western has defeated every Empire League playoff qualifier this season except for Yorba Linda.

Yorba Linda: The Mustangs are riding high after winning the first Empire League title in school history. Yorba Linda is unbeaten in nine straight matches.
