DIVISION 3AA

COUNTY OUTLOOK

(Division 3AA girls basketball playoff bracket.)

Corona del Mar: The Sea Kings, an at-large team from the Pacific Coast League, will be underdogs at 14th-seeded Hawthorne in the first round.

Esperanza: The Aztecs, an at-large team from the Century League, is a big underdog at third-seeded Jurupa Valley in the first round.

Irvine: The Vaqueros flew under the radar last season before making a run to the Division 3AA quarterfinals. The eighth-seeded Vaqueros probably have a good shot at reaching the quarterfinals again before running into top-seeded Alemany of Mission Hills again.

Magnolia: The Sentinels, an at-large team from the Orange League with only six victories, are huge underdogs at 11th-seeded South Hills of West Covina in the first round.

Northwood: The 10th-seeded Timberwolves, an at-large team from the Pacific Coast League, has winnable game at Jurupa Hills of Fontana in the first round. The second round would probably be seventh-seeded Atascadero in a very interesting matchup.

Orange: The Panthers, an at-large team from the Golden West League, are big underdogs at fourth-seeded Lakeside of Lake Elsinore in the first round.

Pacifica: The Mariners, an at-large team from the Empire League are the underdogs at 16th-seeded San Juan Hills in the first round.

San Juan Hills: The Stallions are favorites to knock off Pacifica in the first round, but then comes a date with top-seeded Alemany of Mission Hills in the second round.

Tustin: The Tillers, an Empire League at-large team, are big underdogs at sixth-seeded Calabasas in the first round.

Yorba Linda: The 13th-seeded Mustangs aren’t as strong as they were when they made a run to the Division 3AA quarterfinals. Yorba Linda has a winnable game at Palm Desert in the first round, but they would be underdogs against fourth-seeded Lakeside of Lake Elsinore in the second round.
