COUNTY OUTLOOK
(Division 2A girls basketball playoff bracket)
Fullerton: The Indians, an at-large team from the Freeway League, will be underdogs at 13th-seeded Mayfair of Lakewood in the first round. If senior guard Nicole Beaudoin is able to help Fullerton upset Mayfair, the Indians will be even bigger underdogs against No. 4 seed Culver City.
Kennedy: Fresh off winning their first Empire League title in school history, the 10th-seeded Fighting Irish look like they have a couple of winnable games in the first two rounds. That will depend on senior guard Aikane Higa, who does a little bit of everything for Kennedy.
Orange Lutheran: The top-seeded Lancers are trying to get back to the finals for the first time since winning the Division 3A championship in 2011. Orange Lutheran’s veteran dominated team is led by seniors Jessica Salottolo, Abbey Goodsell and Sydney Jacobs. The Lancers toughest tests on their side of the bracket will probably be fifth-seeded West Torrance or fourth-seeded Culver City.
Segerstrom: The seventh-seeded Jaguars, the second-place team from the Golden West League, have the potential to make a run through the bottom half of the bracket. A potential second-round game against Kennedy would be an interestung matchup.
Tesoro: The 14th-seeded Titans won four of their final five regular season games to claim a share of the Sea View League title. Tesoro has a winnable game against Arlington of Riverside in the first round, but they would be big underdogs against third-seeded Patriot of Riverside in the second round.
