Anyone who has read some of the posts here on the blog, should know by now that I respect the quality of the boys soccer program at Paramount, and this week, the Pirates share No. 1 with Sunny Hills.

If the two teams were to meet, however, this time, I’d have to pick another team besides the Pirates to be the favorites, which would be a first for me. See, the Lancers have always had a great defense, and they do again this year, having not allowed a goal in the six Freeway League games they have played.

But Sunny Hills is scoring goals, too, with Gerardo Arias giving the team the consistency up top that they have lacked in past seasons.
