Girls soccer: Tuesday’s recap (1-15-13)

Another busy day of soccer action is in the books. Here is a look at some of Tuesday’s results.

In the Century League:

Canyon 1, Foothill 0: A first half goal from McKenna Carrillo helped the Comanches (8-6-4; 4-1-1) knock off the Knights (6-8-3; 3-2-1) at El Modena High. Mia Hummel had nine saves for Canyon.

Brea Olinda 2, El Dorado 1: Aly Moon had a goal and an assist to lead the Wildcats (9-6-6; 3-3) over the Golden Hawks (6-10; 1-5) at Brea Olinda High.

In the South Coast League:

Mission Viejo 4, Tesoro 3: Morgan Simpson scored twice, as the host Diablos (6-5-2; 1-1-1) held off the Titans (4-8-2; 0-3). Kiana Palacios and Sam Uribe also tallied goals for Mission Viejo.  Nicky Baham scored twice for Tesoro, while Natalie Jacobs added a goal and an assist.

In the Sunset League:

No. 6 Edison 3, Fountain Valley 0: Goals from MacKenzie Cerda, Sydney Stout, and Brooke Lillywhite helped the visiting Chargers (11-3-2; 3-0-1) blank the Barons (5-7-4; 0-3-1).

No. 8 Los Alamitos 1, Huntington Beach 0: Allie Emmons’ first half penalty kick led the Griffins (8-3-6; 3-0-1) past the Oilers (6-4-4; 1-2-1) at Huntington Beach High.

In the Trinity League:

No. 9 Orange Lutheran 1, Mater Dei 0: Logan Karam scored in the first half to guide the Lancers (13-1-5; 1-0-2) past the Monarchs (7-8-3; 0-3) at Orange Lutheran High. Sarah Klinkenberg had four saves for Orange Lutheran.

In the Freeway League:

No. 4 Sunny Hills 2, Sonora 1: Maribell Morales scored the match-decider in overtime, as the visiting Lancers (14-1-4; 4-0) edged the Raiders.

In the Pacific Coast League:

No. 3 Corona del Mar 0, Irvine 0: Goalie Erica Dory had 15 saves to help the Vaqueros (5-8-3; 2-1-1) tie the Sea Kings (10-2-3; 2-0-1). Kate Hess and Kendall Mulvaney had four saves each for Corona del Mar.

University 3, Woodbridge 1: Shantae Elam, Jessica Wong, and Hanna Ghamari tallied first half goals in the Trojans (7-3-3; 2-1) win over the host Warriors (5-7-1; 1-2).

In the Sea View League:

El Toro 2, Trabuco Hills 0: Kendall Thrall and Nikki Dunn scored in the first half, as the Chargers (5-8-2; 1-2) beat the Mustangs (1-11-3; 0-2-1) at El Toro.

In the Orange League:

Santa Ana Valley 4, Century 2: Jessica Reyes recorded a hat trick in the Falcons (8-6-1; 2-1) win over the Centurions (1-4-2; 0-1-1).

Savanna 3, Magnolia 0: Akesa Oliveti scored two goals to lead the Rebels to a win over the Sentinels  at Magnolia High.

In the Empire League:

Cypress 3, Pacifica 2: Katelyn Record, Jackie Garcia, and Lexy Gerrits scored goals, as the Centurions (10-7-2; 3-1-1) rallied to defeat the Mariners (4-8-2; 3-2) at Pacifica.

Yorba Linda 4, Kennedy 0: Ashlee Webb scored a goal and added two assists in the Mustangs’ (6-5-5; 3-1-1) victory over the Fighting Irish (3-11-2; 1-4) at Yorba Linda High. Shelby Lanksbury added a goal and an assist for Yorba Linda.

In the Golden West League:

Segerstrom 3, Orange 0: The visiting Jaguars (9-0; 3-0) received goals from Renee De la Torre, Cindy Maradiaga, and Vivian Vega in a win over the Panthers (1-7-1; 0-2-1).

Loara 7, Santa Ana 2: Cierra Boaz recorded a hat trick in the Saxons (10-5-1; 2-1) win over the Saints (6-5-3; 0-2-1) at Loara High. Deseree De La Rosa scored two goals and added two assists.

Westminster 2, Ocean View 1, OT: The Lions (9-3-2; 3-0-1) used goals from Diana Che and Yazmin Garcia to defeat the Seahawks (5-6-1; 0-2-1) at Ocean View High.

In the Orange Coast League:

Calvary Chapel 2, Laguna Beach 1: Goals from Kellie Melendres and Kylee Stone propelled the Eagles (4-6-5; 1-2) over the Breakers (3-7-4; 0-3-1) at Laguna Beach High.

Saddleback 4, Costa Mesa 1: Lilibeth Torres scored all four goals to lead the Roadrunners (9-2-2; 3-0) past the Mustangs (1-8; 0-2) at Estancia High.
