Mission Viejo left tackle Erik Bunte (6-7, 325) has committed to Cal, the senior confirmed Monday morning.

“It felt like a home away from home,” Bunte said of Cal in a text message. “It was the perfect fit for me and I loved all of the coaches.”

Bunte, who recently made an official recruiting trip to Cal, had previously committed to UCLA.

Bunte’s offseason workouts have already begun. He has been training with Juggernaut and trainer Chad Smith for the past few weeks. The group also features other top linemen from the county.
