Five county schools will head down to San Diego today to begin play in the sixth annual Butch Lee Memorial Tournament.

The 16-team tournament, hosted by Cathedral Catholic High, is named in honor of the aforementioned long time Dons head coach who helped guide the program to eight straight CIF title between 1991 and 1998.

Three teams ranked in the county’s top 10 (No. 3 San Clemente, No. 6 Corona del Mar, and No. 8 Mater Dei) are scheduled to compete along with Rosary and Foothill.

Here are the scheduled bracket pairings for tournament.

The semifinals of the tournament are scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m., with the tournament championship match scheduled for 4 p.m. Those games will take place at Cathedral Catholic High.

In the previous five years of the tournament, county teams have won the tournament three times (Santa Margarita 2007, 2010; San Clemente 2008)

In last year’s title match, Westview defeated Corona del Mar 3-0.
