No. 5 Edison 1, Long Beach Poly 0: Kayla DiSanzo’s second half goal was the difference, as the Chargers (2-0) defeated the Jackrabbits at Edison High. Jordyn Gressier had eight saves for Edison, her second straight shutout in goal.
No. 9 Orange Lutheran 4, Northwood 0: Andrea Koukladas and Katie Montoya each scored two goals in the Lancers (2-0) win over the Timberwolves (1-1) at Orange Lutheran High. Meg Rogers added two assists for Orange Lutheran.
Godinez 2, Sunny Hills 1: Sandy Jimenez scored a goal and had an assist, as the Grizzlies (1-0) produced a season-opening road win over the Lancers (0-1) at Sunny Hills.
Santa Ana Valley 2, Santa Ana 1: First half goals from Genesis Alonso and Jessica Reyes spurred the Falcons past the Saints (0-1-1) at Santa Ana High. Jennifer Ramirez tallied the lone goal of the match for Santa Ana in the first half.
Bolsa Grande 1, Buena Park 1: Goalie Jocelyn Garcia produced 13 saves, as the Matadors (1-0-1) and Coyotes (0-0-1) played to a tie at Buena Park High.
