Each week I will select an offensive, defensive and special teams star of the week. This is my pick. No one was consulted in this selection, although, I considered asking Jim Mora for help, but he was busy kicking people out of practice.

Offensive

Nathan Cole, Aliso Niguel

Cole set a new school record with 491 passing yards in Thursday’s victory over Woodbridge. Cole complete 37 of 48 passes with seven touchdowns.

Defensive

Garrett Marino, Mission Viejo

Marino went Beast Mode against Redlands East Valley Friday night. Marino had five sacks, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.

Special Teams

Griff Amies, Corona del Mar

Amies booted three field goals, including a 41-yarder in CdM’s 37-24 victory over Cypress.
