Orange Lutheran senior boys basketball player Payton Banks committed to Penn State, Lancers coach Chris Nordstrom announced Wednesday.

Banks (6-foot-5) was All-CIF Southern Section Division 1A first team last year, and All-Orange County second team.

Nordstrom said that during this summer Banks has played a variety of positions for the Lancers.

“We’ve really moved him around a lot, which we can do because he’s so versatile,” Nordstrom said.

Among the teams that most actively recruited Banks were Nevada, Pepperdine and UTEP.
