Football: Week 1 By the numbers

Here is a look at the action from Week 1, according to the numbers

419 – Passing yards for El Toro’s Conner Manning in Saturday’s 30-10 victory over Clovis. This is Manning’s second consecutive 400-plus yard performance this season. He completed 31 of 45 passes with three touchdowns.

7 – Sacks for the El Toro defense. Ryan Arnold and Sam Travis had two apiece.

20 – Deficit that Servite faced Saturday in its game against Rancho Cucamonga. The Friars scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to rally for the 24-23 victory.

364 – Combined rushing yards gained by Tustin’s Terence Martinez (183) and DaVonte Young (181) in Friday’s 35-28 victory over Foothill.

10 – Consecutive passes completed by Foothill quarterback Jack Gilchrist to start Friday’s game against Tustin. Gilchrist completed 17 of 23 passes for 237 yards and four touchdowns.

3 – Interceptions by the Tustin secondary, including two by Diontre Rodriguez, in Friday’s victory over Tustin.

3 – Touchdowns scored by Mission Viejo’s Alex Suchesk in Friday’s 35-21 victory over Mission Hills.

5 – Sacks recorded by the Santa Margarita defense as the Eagles defeated Long Beach Jordan, 35-6.

6 – Sacks recorded by the Tesoro defense in Friday’s 10-7 victory over Hart.

76.5 – Completion percentage for Aliso Niguel quarterback Nathan Cole (13 of 17) in Friday’s 48-8 victory over Long Beach Millikan. Cole passed for 269 yards and 5 touchdowns.

27 – Points scored in the second quarter by JSerra in the 37-21 victory over Long Beach Wilson

199 – Rushing yards gained by Fullerton’s Jesus Nodarse in the 42-7 victory over Anaheim. Nodarse scored four touchdowns.

198 – Combined rushing yards gained by Segerstrom running backs David Perkins (102) and Joseph Gomez (96) as the Jaguars defeated University, 25-8.

6 – Touchdown passes for Brethren Christian quarterback Jack McInally in the 43-7 victory over Arrowhead Christian. McInally completed 19 of 28 passes for 272 yards.

184 – Rushing yards gained by El Modena running back Austin Victer as the Vanguards defeated Cypress 11-9.

19 – Halftime deficit faced by Capistrano Valley against Santa Fe Christian before rallying for the 41-39 victory.

4 – Touchdowns scored by Los Alamitos quarterback Cody Marshall (three rushing, one passing) in the Friday’s 29-26 victory over Paramount.

3 – Turnovers forced by Trabuco Hills in Thursday’s 27-21 victory over Newport Harbor.

110 – Rushing yards in the second half gained by Villa Park’s Meki Tafuna to lead the Spartans in the 24-7 victory over Valencia. Tafuna finished with 151 yards and 2 touchdowns, both coming in the second half.

28 – Points scored in the first quarter by La Mirada in its 45-27 victory over La Habra.

9 – Touchdowns scored by Buena Park’s Deven Boston through two games this season after he scored four in Thursday’s 35-0 victory over Schurr.

171 – Rushing yards gained by Costa Mesa’s Justin Smith in the 45-14 victory over Santiago.

2005 – The last time Orange opened the season with a victory before Thursday’s 41-7 victory over Saddleback.
