Each week I will select an offensive, defensive and special teams star of the week. This is my pick. No one was consulted in this selection, although, I considered asking my nephew for help, but he’s not responding to my texts.

Offensive

Conner Manning, El Toro

I think even my nephew would agree with this pick. Manning completed 44 of 66 passes for 466 yards and 6 touchdowns in Thursday’s 47-24 victory over Huntington Beach. He completed passes to six receivers, with three topping 100 yards. I hope they get him something for his birthday

Defensive

Tofa Tupou, Buena Park

Tupou had a field day against Cerritos Thursday (everybody from Buena Park had a field day) in the 74-0 victory . Tupou had six tackles, one sack, one interception and a fumble recovery

Special Teams

Dillon Lawson, El Dorado

If the report was correct, then this award is going out to Dillon Lawson. Lawson (El Dorado) booted a 53-yard field goal in Friday’s loss to La Habra. 53 yards! Let’s see someone try and top that.
