Veteran Garden Grove girls swim coach Keith Clarkson, who led the Argonauts to a fourth place finish at the CIF-SS Division 4 finals in May, has resigned.
Clarkson reports that he has landed a full-time teaching position at Woodbridge. During the summer, he served as an assistant girls basketball coach at the Pacific Coast League school.
Clarkson coached various sports for 20 years at Garden Grove. Here’s his well-rounded coaching breakdown:
9 years of JV Boys Water Polo
2 years JV Girls Basketball
5 years of JV Girls Water Polo
3 years of JV Boys Baseball
10 years of Var Girls Basketball
14 years of Var Girls Swimming
Clarkson said the 2012 swim season was special for him.
“This past swim season has been the most successful and memorable seasons I have had over my 20 year career. I will be exploring coaching possibilities at Woodbridge but I will always bleed Argo red,” he wrote in an e-mail to Garden Grove.
