Football: Los Alamitos progressing with Plan B at quarterback

August 17th, 2012, 3:36 pm · · posted by

Los Alamitos’ football team suffered a key injury during the spring when starting quarterback Nick Wendell (6-2, 205) was lost for the season with a knee injury.

Wendell, who will be junior this coming year, suffered the injury in the Griffins’ spring game.

But Los Alamitos quickly found a replacement, moving senior Cody Marshall (6-5, 210), pictured left in jersey No. 7, to quarterback from linebacker.

Marshall has played quarterback at Los Almitos before. He is a former starter for the JV team.

Los Alamitos coach John Barnes is pleased with Marshall’s progress at quarterback.

“He played great all summer,” Barnes said of Marshall.

Barnes said Marshall could bring a dual-threat element to the Griffins’ offense.
