Running back Alex Suchesk, carrying the ball in the picture at left, and receiver Sean Modster have enrolled at Mission Viejo, Mission Viejo coach Bob Johnson confirmed today.
Both players were All-Trinity League at Santa Margarita last season. Both were penciled in as starters at Santa Margarita for this fall.
Modster and Suchesk had transferred to Santa Margarita before the 2011-12 school year, so Mission Viejo will be the third high school in three years for both.
Suchesk, a 5-foot-11 and 185-pound junior, last year rushed for 506 yards and seven touchdowns for the Eagles. His best game was against Bishop Amat of La Puente in the first round of the playoffs, when he ran for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
Modster, also a 5-11, 185-pound junior, had a team-high 44 receptions for 729 yards and two touchdowns in 2011. His best games — six receptions for 48 yards against Servite, six receptions for 61 yards against Amat, and five receptions for 197 yards against St. John Bosco of Bellflower.
Santa Margarita still has plenty of good players at those positions — River Cracraft at receiver, Ryan Wolpin at running back, and more.
