Newport Beach Water Polo Club’s 14-and-under boys team – featuring a few incoming freshmen at Newport Harbor — finished first in the gold division at the recent Junior Olympics at Sacred Heart Prep in Atherton.

The incoming freshmen on the squad were: goalie Joseph Ferraro, Ethan Clayton, Gavin Kunkle and captain Ben Morrison.

The rest of the squad included: Presley Boyd, Barron Banta, Cole Brosnan, Hannes Daube, Oscar Goodell, Robert McCracken, Nicolas Rimlinger, Nakua Olotoa, Ryan Hurst and Patrick McNamara.

The top scorers for Coach Stefano Ragosa’s squad were Kunkle and Daube while the top defenders were Ferraro and Morrison.

San Diego Shores claimed the elite 14-and-under platinum division.
