Fountain Valley offensive lineman J.D. Hinnant (6-5, 260) – Orange County’s top uncommitted football recruit in the class of 2013 — has narrowed his college choices to four, he said Monday after the Barons’ morning practice.
Hinnant said his top-four college destinations are: Cal, Oregon, Duke and Nebraska.
The Barons’ two-way lineman has set an official recruiting trip to Nebraska on Sept. 29, the date of the Cornhuskers’ Big Ten opener against visiting Wisconsin on ABC.
Hinnant also is could make an official visit Oregon on Sept. 8, the date of the Ducks’ home game against Fresno State.
The senior could make recruiting trips to Cal and Duke after the season.
Nebraska and Oregon have already found success with Orange County’s class of 2013.
Nebraska landed a verbal commitment from Santa Margarita quarterback Johnny Stanton while Oregon received a commitment from Los Alamitos lineman Alex Redmond.
Hinnant projects to start at left tackle and defensive end for the Barons, who open the season Aug. 24 against Foothill at Huntington Beach.
