It happens. Begg is hardly the first and hardly the last to change college commitments.

We all have the right to change our minds. No damage done to San Diego State or to Begg or anyone else. When facts change, so should one’s mind.

The lesson to be learned by all student-athlete prospects is this — take all of your recruiting trips before making a decision. The more information acquired, the more informed the decision. It’s excruciating for a young person to tell that college, “I know I committed to you, but something better came along.” Taking all of the recruiting trips can help avoid that situation.

And that’s my advice for the day.
