Santa Margarita senior defensive end Nick Begg (6-5, 245) has committed to Arizona State and de-committed from San Diego State, he said in a text message Wednesday.
“I fell in love with ASU in the three times that I visited and the coaching staff played a huge role in my decision,” Begg said.
Arizona State offered Begg at its camp July 22. San Diego State was the first program to offer Begg.
Begg was a backup last season on the Eagles’ Pac-5 and state championship team. He is fifth Santa Margarita player to commit to a Pac-12 program, joining offensive lineman Erik Bunte (UCLA), safety/wide receiver Connor O’Brien (Washington), center Dane Crane (Washington) and wide receiver River Cracraft (Washington State).
