New England Patriots special teams star Matt Slater will be at Sports Conditioning and Rehabilitation in Orange today at 7 p.m., talking about his journey from Servite football standout through a stellar career at UCLA and on to the NFL.
His talk might be topped by another speaker at SCAR tonight — Travis Ricks, an amputee who is a member of the USA Sitting Volleyball team and a triathlete.
Ricks and Slater are among the many athletes who have trained and done injury rehabilitation at SCAR. Slater’s father Jackie was a Hall of Fame tackle for the Rams.
The event will raise money for the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Admission is free. Prizes will be raffled.
SCAR is at 871 St. Tustin Ave. in Orange. For more information, call 714-633-7227 or visit www.scarfitness.com.
