Girls golf: Two county players advance at Junior Girls

Canyon’s Elisabeth Bernabe and Brea Olinda’s Amy Lee each won their first round matches on Wednesday at Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, and if they win both of their matches on Thursday, the will be a part of the Golf Channel broadcast of the quarterfinals on Friday.

Bernabe cruised through her match against Maria Jose Fassi, winning 5&3. The Canyon senior-t0-be and three time OC Register All County First teamer will play the 43rd seed, Alexandra Kaui, in the second round.

Lee also eased to a victory in the first round, beating Edison’s Jennifer Yu, 5&4. Lee takes on Ashlan Ramsey in the second round.
