
Santa Margarita senior-to-be Beau Hossler fired a final round 1-over par 73 on the South Course at Torrey Pines to finish second in the 15-17 boys division at the Junior World Golf Championships.
Rancho Cucamonga’s Rico Hoey won the division, finishing with a 3-under 69 to card a 2-underpar 286 which put him one stroke ahead of Hossler at the end of the 72-hole tournament.
Hossler opened the tournament with a 4-under 68, but followed that up with three consecutive rounds that were 1-over-par.
Lila Vu, who will begin her sophomore season playing golf at Fountain Valley next month, won the girls 13-14 division, finishing the 54-hole tournament at The Country Club of Rancho Bernardo with an 11-under-par 205.
