In the men’s pole vault finals, former Los Alamitos vaulter Dustin Deleo finished sixth with a clearance of 18-0½.

Former Mater Dei star Michael Woepse cleared the same height and was credited with a seventh place finish in his first Olympic trials competition.

In the 5,000 final, former El Toro star Brandon Bethke (14:03.37) placed 16th.
