Secoda coached Tustin’s baseball team the past few years. This past season, Tustin finished 13-17. The Tillers upset Crescenta Valley in the first round of the Division 2 playoffs, then lost to eventual Division 2 finalist Aliso Niguel in the second round, 2-1.
Secoda was Fullerton’s coach before moving on to Tustin. Secoda was a three-sport star at Valencia in the 1990s. He played for several years in the St. Louis Cardinals system.
Scheetz was a terrific coach at Valencia. He always got the most out of his roster, including this year when Valencia made the Division 2 playoffs as an at-large team and in the second round beat Harvard-Westlake, at the time the No. 1-ranked team in California.
