
Former Santa Margarita runner Ryan Martin has qualified for the finals of the 800 at the U.S. Track and Field Trials Saturday afternoon at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
Martin finished third in heat 2 (1:47.37), grabbing one of the six automatic qualifying spots into the finals.
He will now be one of eight runners that will take part in the 800 finals, scheduled for Monday night at 7:47 p.m.
Also advancing to the finals was UC Irvine graduate Charles Jock.
