Canyon senior-to-be Elisabeth Bernabe posted a 1-over 73 at Neshanic Valley Golf Course and is in a tie for 36th -place after the first-round of stroke play at the U.S. Women’s Publinks in Neshanic Station, N.J.

UCLA’s Ani Gulugian also carded a 73 on Monday, and like Bernabe is five shots behind Lakareber Abe and Cindy Ha, who both finished with a 4-under 68.

Northwesterb-bound Kaitlin Park, who was an All County selection last fall for Beckman, shot a 2-over 74 and is tied for 55th with Lila Vu, who was the Register’s Player of the Year last season for Fountain Valley.
