Baseball: Moore resigns at El Dorado

June 12th, 2012, 12:30 pm · · posted by

Dave Moore today said he has resigned as baseball coach at El Dorado. Moore became the school’s baseball head coach in 2010, after 18 years as an assistant coach there.

Moore, 41, said he is resigning to create more time for his wife and their two children.

El Dorado qualified for the playoffs all three of Moore’s seasons as head coach. His teams were 54-34 overall. Most of his 18 years as an El Dorado baseball assistant coach were spent while the head coach was Steve Gullotti, whom Moore replaced in ’10 and is the school’s athletic director.

This past season, El Dorado’s Golden Hawks were 19-11 overall, finished second in the seven-team Century League and advanced to the quarterfinals in CIF-Southern Section Division 1. The won the championship of the National Classic in April.

“I wish the program nothing but the best,” Moore said. “I will miss the players the most.”

He has been part of El Dorado’s on-campus security staff.
