
Corona del Mar’s boys lacrosse team won its first county title, defeating No. 3 San Clemente, 9-6, Wednesday night in the finals of the U.S. Lacrosse Division 1 South playoffs.
The Sea Kings (23-0) move on to the Southern Section finals Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mission Viejo.

In the girls game, Los Alamitos girls lacrosse team captured its fourth straight U.S. Lacrosse Division 1 South title, defeating Corona del Mar, 12-6, Wednesday evening at Dana Hills.
Grace Schmidt-Beck and Keaton Otake scored four goals each to lead the Griffins. Goalkeeper Emily Alpaugh had 11 saves.
Seventh-seeded Corona del Mar was led by Torrey Attyah with two goals.
Los Al moves on to the Southern Section finals Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mission Viejo.
