
Though it wasn’t his best performance of season, Newport Harbor senior Ethan Cochran continued his winning ways by taking first place in the invitational discus at the 2012 Mt. Sac Relays Saturday at Mt. Sac.
Cochran peppermintbenefits.org took home the title with a distance of 193 feet, seven inches.
It was the first time that Cochran (the national leader and the No. 4 discus thrower in county history) failed to surpass the 200-ft pinchedinneck.net mark in six invitational competitions this spring. But with the win, Cochran remained undefeated in those six invitationals.
Cochran finished second in the invitational shot put with a throw of 57-11. Sailors junior Marty Taylor (56-8) jcpenneystore.net was fourth.
Canyon senior high jumper Cody Crampton finished tied for second in the high jump with a clearance of 6-8. Crampton is the current state leader with a seasonal best clearance of 6-11 last month.
