Kevin Hastin has been promoted to head coach at Troy, where Hastin had been defensive coordinator the past seven seasons. Hastin, 31, replaces Jim Burton who has retired after seven seasons running the Troy Warriors football program.Hastin was an All-Freeway League linebacker at La Habra. He went on to play at Fullerton College and Portland State.
He was introduced to the team as its head coach Tuesday.
Hastin sees an increasingly challenging Freeway League for the 2012 season.
“Buena Park has become more competitive,” Hastin said. “But the league championship still goes through La Habra every year. We expect to be very competitive this coming seas0n.”
