There’s more to this league than just Los Amigos, and this year the Lobos will have to battle a Santiago team which posted some impressive results in the recent Marina Tournament. And don’t forget about Pacifica.
1. SANTIAGO – They played very well in the Marina Tournament. In their first game in pool play, the Cavaliers held a 2-0 lead on Fullerton until the Indians scored three goals in less than five minutes to win 3-2. The Cavalier then beat Huntington Beach and advanced into the championship quarterfinals.
2. PACIFICA – The Mariners have scored 24 goals in their last four games. Yes. 26. It helps when you knock in 10 in one game. They did it against La Quinta. After that, they fired in nine against Tri City Christian and five against Whittier Christian. In those three games, Josh Alcalde scored three goals and Jeremy Lawrence added two.
3. LOS AMIGOS – The Lobos played a tough preseason, tying both Anaheim and Santa Ana
