
UCLA-bound Mater Dei girls basketball player Nirra Fields, whose legal guardian is Lakers coach Mike Brown, had her hardship transfer approved and is eligible to play for the Monarchs, CIF-Southern Section spokesman Thom Simmons confirmed.
“She has unlimited eligibility,” Simmons said. “She’s good to go.”
With Fields, a Canadian national team member, joining a lineup that already includes USC-bound Jordan Adams, the Monarchs become favorites to win a third consecutive state title.
