Football recruiting: Mission Viejo’s Redfield offered by USC

December 12th, 2011, 7:11 pm · · posted by

Mission Viejo junior free safety Max Redfield (6-2, 195) was offered by USC on Monday, he confirmed.

It’s the first scholarship offer for Redfield,  who shined as a physical and athletic defender this season.

“It’s really exciting for me,” he said. “USC is one of my top schools.”

Redfield attended several USC home games this season and felt positive vibes.

Redfield said he was surprised he was offered this early but Mission Viejo coach Bob Johnson said the timing speaks highly of Redfield’s ability.

“That’s an honor,” Johnson said of the early offer.

Redfield also is interested in Oregon, Colorado, Nebraska and Georgia.

“I love competing,” said Redfield, who is now playing basketball for Mission Viejo.
