El Toro water polo player Joey Colton set the school’s single-season assists record during the first period of a CIF Division 1 first-round victory against Servite last week.
The junior dished out two assists in the first period to break Matt Grace’s 2002 record of 95. Between the first and second periods, Grace presented Colton with the game ball.
Colton has 102 assists entering the Chargers’ semifinal match against Newport Harbor on Wednesday night at 5 at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine.
