Edison senior water polo player Jessica Becker has committed to Sonoma State of the Western Water Polo Association, Chargers coach Diggy Riley said in an e-mail Wednesday.
Becker, an attacker, scored 25 goals and collected 33 steals last season. She is one of Edison’s top defenders and drew the assignment of guarding Dos Pueblos’ Kiley Neushul during the Division 1 playoffs last season.
“She is as tough as they get,” Riley said of Becker.
At Sonoma State, she will join Edison grad Jamie Bee and Foothill product Jessica Stansfield on a squad coach by Olympian and former UCLA standout Coralie Simmons.
Sonoma was sixth last season in the WWPA.
