Football recruiting: Surging Tesoro linebacker lands first Pac-12 offer

June 12th, 2011, 1:44 am · · posted by

Tesoro linebacker Blake Rodgers (6-2, 220) has been offered by Washington, the junior confirmed Saturday at the Air Strike passing tournament at Dana Hills.

Rodgers is generating a lot of interest and it will likely only increase now that he blazed a 4.51 hand-timed 40-yard dash at a recent UCLA camp. Rodgers combines speed with school records in the bench press (385 pounds) and power clean (340).

He also has offers from Air Force, Northern Arizona and Cal Poly SLO.

I knew it was only a matter of time before Blake Rodgers hit everyones radar. He is a freakish athlete, and great instincts to the ball. UCLA should be all over this kid. Grades are real good.
