Northwood’s baseball players were treated after a 4-2 CIF-SS Division 3 playoff victory over Lancaster in Lancaster Friday.
The reward: pizza and soft drinks on the bus for the Timberwolves, according to Coach Rob Stuart.
That may have made the long trip home a little better for the Timberwolves, who move on to the second round.
By the way, Northwood was one of four baseball teams from the Pacific Coast League and Irvine to win playoff games on Friday. University topped Alhambra, 2-0; Beckman defeated Downey, 2-0; and Woodbridge defeated Whittier, 6-2.
