Mission Viejo football coach and quarterback guru Bob Johnson said he is no longer coaching quarterbacks at the Nike Football Training Camps or at the Elite 11 quarterback camps.
“No mas,” Johnson said earlier this week. “Things change. … It was my choice. I’m not sad.”
Johnson has been a fixture at the camps for the past decade and has tutored some of Southern California’s top quarterbacks, including Mark Sanchez (Mission Viejo) and Carson Palmer (Santa Margarita).
Johnson and his sons, Bret and, Rob, continue to run their Camp Quarterback sessions. Johnson also continues to work out pro quarterbacks.
Former Colorado coach Dan Hawkins will be one of the quarterback instructors at this weekend’s Nike Football Training Camp at USC.
