Two-time state wrestling champion Morgan McIntosh has committed to Penn State, Calvary Chapel coach Arsen Aleksanyan confirmed this morning.

McIntosh, a senior, is one of the heralded recruits in the nation. InterMat has him rated the No. 2 recruit in the Class of 2011.

McIntosh has the opportunity to join some elite company this season. He is vying to become the 15th wrestler in California history to win three state titles.

He could also become the 20th to medal four titles at the state tournament.

McIntosh placed fifth as a freshman at 160 pounds in 2008. He was first at 171 in 2009 and 189 last year.

He is expected to go 189 pounds again this year.

Penn State, under coach Cael Sanderson, will enter this season ranked sixth in the preseason National Wrestling Coaches Association/USA Today Coaches poll.
