Edison All-County defensive lineman Charles Burks committed to USC on Monday night, the senior confirmed.

Burks (6-1, 230) said the Trojans made him a non-conditional offer, and he jumped on it.

USC had earlier offered Burks a scholarship if he graduated one semester early at Edison.

“I really like the whole coaching staff,” Burks said of USC. “(And) it’s a great school.”

Burks said USC has recruited mostly as a linebacker but also a perhaps a rush specialist or fullback.

Burks was ranked No. 5 in the O.C. Hot 100 rankings of Orange County football players entering the 2010 season.
