Boys water polo: Top 25 rankings return

The Albano Top 25 Water Polo Index is back just in time for a Super Tuesday of sorts. There’s a ton of matches on today’s schedule – including several involving county heavyweights.

What’s the Top 25 Index? These are my rankings for teams 11-25 in Orange County water polo. The Top 10 gets published in the Register on Tuesdays and on Mondays on OCVarsity.com. But as any knowledgeable water polo fan knows, depth is often the name of the game. So I say, bring on the Top 25:

#25 Edison nearly pulled off the upset tonight losing to #12 Dana Hills 12-11 on the road.

Yeah because they put there B goalie in the second half. How good is northwood?? Heard they have just a bunch of freshman and a few players here and there but must be kinda hard without hartshrone not in the cage making there lives easier. I know they got blown out by Los Al but there way more experienced

What game are you talking about? B Goalie in the Dana-Edison game?

Not sure what pool you were at, but Dana’s top GK played every second. Edison should have tied it in final moments. Major questionable non-call with Dana player ejected but didn’t leave the play and interfering with the shot.

On another note, there are some very good teams in this 11-25 list. I think there will be some shuffling very soon with a lot of games slated over the next two weeks. Expect plenty of movement in and out of the top 25.
