Taylor Hammond, who is a senior at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, has verbally committed to Penn State University, Eagles coach Bryan Cottriel announced in an email.
Hammond has earned 1st-team All-Trinity League honors during his sophomore and junior seasons. Last season Hammond was 3rd-team All Orange County and 3rd-team All-CIF.
Hammond has as won two gold medals and selected All-American at the Boys Volleyball Junior Olympics while competing for Balboa Bay Volleyball Club.
Congratulations. Mr. Hammond was underrated this past season. He is a better setter (& all around player) than he has been given credit. Glad to see he is going to a major program.
