Message from the SoPac Zone:
To be considered an NCAA sport requires at least 40 teams nationwide. Currently, there are 42 mens programs in the country. Due to budget cuts in the state, UC Davis is considering ending their mens program which would push the total to 41; thats right at the threshold to cancel mens waterpolo at the collegiate level in this country. We can not let any more programs go the wayside.
The National Water Polo League is hosting a game this friday night at Woollett Aquatics Complex in Irvine California at 8:30 PM where the proceeds will go to the UC Davis program. This will help raise dearly needed funds and also demonstrate the level of interest and commitment to the sport. The game will feature Orange County taking on NYAC and will include the best waterpolo talent the US has to offer. We encourage all to come out and watch what will be a great game and help support collegiate waterpolo in this country.
Great game NYAC 14:OCWPC 12–shootout. Great crowd
