The Kennedy Varsity Invitational will make its debut Saturday with a 10-team swim meet, starting at 9 a.m.
The timed-finals event has attracted Woodbridge, Marina, Santa Fe, Gahr, Whitney, Schurr, Warren, Costa Mesa, Cypress and of course, Kennedy.
The girls meet will include Stanford-signee Kirsten Chen of Whitney, who is racing the fly and backstroke. The improved Marina boys and Nick Soedel could be another team to watch. Woodbridge’s Genevieve Bradford is a late scratch but Woodbridge’s Dane Stassi is another boy to watch.
The top-16 placing swimmers will score points.
