El Modena senior swimmer and free-agent college prospect Lucas Spencer continued to sizzle in the pool Wednesday. Spencer clocked a school record in the 100-yard freestyle with a quick 47.61 in a meet against visiting Vista Murrieta.
The time is Spencer’s lifetime best.
The season is only two days old, but he already seems to have an excellent chance of breaking into the 45-second range — which is a special deal.
On Tuesday, he blazed a 1:00.95 in 100-yard breaststroke. Spencer has been 59.38 for his club team, ORCA.
Interestingly, Spencer said Wednesday night that he is leaning toward Concordia for swimming. He also is interested in trying water polo at Concordia.
If I’m Concordia, I’m all over this kid.
