El Toro thumped Westview and Santa Margarita (for second time in two games this season) on Friday, then beat La Jolla and La Serna on Saturday to reach finals.

Sophomore Karen Henry scored game-winner on long shot from field with 8 seconds left to beat La Serna, which had rallied from a 7-1 halftime deficit to tie the score at 8-8.

Freshman Emily Browning, younger sister of last year’s standout set, Jessica Browning (now at CS Bakersfield) had a remarkable run in goal, making save after save and setting up scorers with long, accurate passes. Keep an eye on her, as she is already great and will only get better.

Good job, Chargers! You did yourselves proud.
