    Q,

Welcome to BYU!!! I think you made a great choice. I went to BYU after growing up in California, and not having much in common with Utah, its religion, its culture, etc… However, I loved BYU. For different reasons, I felt there was a lot at BYU that fit my personality. (My family and friends were shocked that I chose BYU.) At first, it was a culture shock, but you’d find plenty of differences at Utah, Washington, Hawaii, etc… After you get passed the first sense of culture shock, I think you’ll fall in love with the place, the people, and the environment to learn and become a better man. Good luck for the next two or three (I won’t say four, as I’m sure you’ll have opportunities to turn pro early) years and soak up every minute. I miss that place. I loved Provo. BYU made me a better person in many, many ways. Amidst my different religion and cultural upbringing, I had a lot in common with the mission statement of the university and I enjoyed my time there. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Good luck Q. You, Heaps, Van Noy, Stout, etc… are going to bring BYU and national championship (not to put any pressure on you, haha). We can’t wait. Go cougs!

Wow, this is a scary BYU offensive class. I loved Q’s highlight video. His running style reminds me a lot of Brown and Unga’s.

  • Jason says:

Very stoked to have you! I’ve been following your career and recruiting for the past year through the scout.com network, and have long felt that you were an ideal fit for BYU’s power running game.

With your mixture of power and speed running behind our big offensive line and a big Tongan fullback, you will make an immediate impact and I think you will be a star.

Congratulations on your decision, and my prayers to your family as you deal with the recent fire. Merry Christmas, and all the best.

Welcome to Cougar Nation. We are excited to have you. Have a great Spring.

  • Cougar Ken says:

Q, We are so thrilled to have you join our Band Of Brothers!!!
I wanted you to commit so badly that I didn’t dare get my hopes up. You will be an impact player at RB very soon. I hope I get to see you in the annual Blue/White spring scrimmage. I commend you for following your heart in this decision.

  • Ken T says:

Q – Congrats! Welcome to BYU! After reading various articles on you, I believe you will fit right in at THE Y. Bronco is all about service, growth and producing W’s on the field and in life. You are going to love it! As a season ticket holder – we are looking forward to watching you in Cougar blue!!!!

  • UHWarrior says:

Josh- Good luck at BYU, my family and I enjoyed watching you these past 3 years at La Habra. We’ll miss you, and you’re unstoppable running style. BYU is lucky to have you. I was hoping you’d choose Hawaii, but honestly, you’re better off playing for the Cougars if you want to get to the NFL.

BTW, BYU and Hawaii used to be rivals because BYU recruits heavily in the islands. BYU has a hawaii campus, they used to send some of the football players there for “summer” school.
